About Seaside Meats
Seaside Meats is a traditional family retail butchery that delivers fresh quality meats throughout the Auckland Metropolitan area. Our butchery has been in Howick, Auckland for over 11 years and we take pride in the fact that we not only cater for the local community, but also restaurants and cafes, including the well-known: Te Whau Lodge – Waiheke, Goldwater Estate – Waiheke and Three French Hens - Howick. We have a wide selection of meats ranging from traditional steaks through to gourmet style meats so browse our selection online.

"My passion for the meat industry started with work experience in a local butchery and led to completing my apprenticeship in 1978. Eager to broaden my knowledge, I worked in all aspects of the meat industry from the freezing works to some of Auckland's top retail shops.

In 1994 I realised my goal of owning my own shop and opened Seaside Meats in Howick, Auckland. My aim has always been to provide top quality service and meat so we source only the best products and produce our own smallgoods including bacon, smoked chicken breasts and sausages. Our top quality service and products has helped Seaside Meats gain its current reputation as one of Auckland's top retail shops. Whether you buy online or come into the shop, you can be sure your purchase is of the highest quality."

Staff

Staff
All our butchers are fully trained, and have achieved trade qualifications. We take pride in employing new apprentices, which ensures we continue to support the industry and infuse new skills and ideas. We are also very proud of our staff achievements, with one employee consistently placing in the top 3 of the Auckland Young Butchers awards and in 2005 was a finalist in the New Zealand Young Butcher of the year. Another employee has been the recipient of the Howick Courtesy and Service award.

Our range covers all traditional cuts of meat, through to rabbit, quail, pousson and duck in fact, all game meats! We take the time to prepare our small goods and gourmet cuts from the highest-quality beef, lamb, chicken and pork.

  • Due to increased customer awareness of were our food comes from, we are stockists of New Zealand free range chicken and pork.
  • We make a wide range of sausages from the traditional beef and country style pork favourites through to our award winnning gourmet sized varieties
  • Our bacon is cured and smoked over an eight day process to seal in the flavours
  • Our tasty silverside is corned on-site
  • We also produce gluten and dairy-free sausages

These are just a few of our smallgoods. We also have an excellent range of pre-prepared products for those wanting a gourmet meal without the fuss. And we offer a range of condiments to compliment your quality meat purchase. If you have a special requirement (for example if your recipe calls for butterflied or tunnel-boned leg of lamb) our staff will be happy to help.
